LEGO Doesn’t Want It’s Toys to be Used for Art

Or more specifically, according to an instagram post, Lego does not want Ai Weiwei to use it’s blocks to make his art.

You have to wonder about the logic LEGO employed to justify it actively trying to prevent an artist from creating artwork using its blocks.

You also have to wonder what kind of entitled mind thinks they have a right to control other people’s use of a children’s toy.

It’s almost like LEGO thinks they’re selling software licenses instead of a physical product that can be used in a million and one ways.

But whatever, that’s the thing about art… about humanity really… there’s always a way.

Just you watch as a million people mail him a single brick each or something like that.
